ClassForKids gives back £500k to the kids activity industry.

Doing the correct thing. How Nikki, CEO at ClassForKids, used his experience as a coach to help others in the industry.

A New Year... a new lockdown. This one brought with it more challenges, albeit many we had faced before. I did find myself tiring of reacting and making quick decisions this time round;  To furlough or not to furlough, how to support the working parents in our business, and what about all the kids clubs that use our platform who had hoped 2021 would bring a fresh start to their businesses?500k-14

Perspective has always served me well, and I find myself able to make decisions that to me are simply the correct thing to do, and to support the folk that need it most. For me that’s the many kids clubs that use our platform and have seen their income hit really hard.

Extending our free use of ClassForKids until the end of February will take our total support to clubs since March 2020 to almost £500,000. For the majority of our small individually run clubs, this is a small gesture and a handy saving every month. For our larger clients (mainly franchise businesses), it can be a significant saving, but the gesture is more than financially driven.

The crucial role After School Kids Clubs and Holiday Camps play in the development of our children is vital. In my eyes it’s as important as school is and many of the life skills I have developed from childhood were from my involvement in After School Clubs; my football coach teaching me practically about the importance of teamwork. My tennis coach helping me to bounce back from defeat and become more resilient.

Many of our clients have had to adapt. They’ve been running online classes, working around restrictions, moving sessions outdoors and reducing class sizes. They have still used our platform and we have enhanced our features and supported them through the whole journey. We have welcomed many new clients who have not been used to taking payments online, and who without the pandemic may have never made this leap.

So the correct thing was easy in the end. Do everything we can to support kids clubs when they need us most. They have shaped the lives of us all and will continue to do so long after the lockdown is over.
